ioli starts with a word. riccioli.

Italian for curls.

It's the second half of our name, and the first thing that made sense about it, because this brand was never really about a product. It was about learning to be proud of something we were taught to hide.

The hair oil for all

Growing up Sicilian with a drop of the Middle East in my blood, curly hair wasn’t always something to celebrate.

It took time, and the right people, to understand that the rituals for it had existed long before I found them.

And once I did, everything changed.

That’s the thing about this kind of care, it doesn’t belong to one hair type.

It’s not a trend, or a routine you start and stop.

Oiling your scalp, nourishing your lengths, treating your hair like it deserves attention...that’s for everyone. It always has been.

What I couldn’t find, though, was a version of this ritual that felt right for everyday use.

Most oils felt too heavy. Too greasy. Or sat on top of the hair without actually supporting it.

So ioli became about creating that balance— something lightweight, effective, and easy to come back to consistently.

Our grandmothers used oil in their hair.

They didn’t explain it. They didn’t need to.

A few drops, worked in slowly. Simple, consistent, and passed down.

ioli is our take on that. Not a reinvention. Not a disruption.

Just an honest, plant-based oil made from ingredients chosen for what they actually do.

No silicones. No fillers. Nothing unnecessary our grandmother wouldn't recognize.

Our first product, the Rosemary Hair Oil, is built on that idea.

The difference

Most modern hair oils are designed to sit on top of your hair; creating shine, but also buildup, heaviness, and that greasy feeling.

ioli was designed differently.

A lightweight blend that absorbs into the scalp and strands, helping reduce breakage, calm irritation, and support healthier-looking hair over time.

Xo,

Melissa, founder of ioli

That’s always been the idea. Not a line. Not a system. Not a ten-step routine. Just a bottle that earns its place on your shelf, and actually does what it says. Rooted in tradition. Made for every strand.
